The ultimate system
for preventing crime - effective when all else has failed
For organisations confronted with serious or re-occurring crime problems,
a ground-breaking new perimeter protection system is now available -
and it may provide the answer when all else has failed.
Developed in the UK, the PulseSecure electrified perimeter system
is fast gaining a reputation for 100% effectiveness even in serious
crime hot spots. Group 4 Securitas Ireland have recently completed a
contract with Harper Chalice Group Limited for the sale, installation
and maintenance of PulseSecure Perimeter Security Systems. PulseSecure
deters, delays, denies any attempts by would-be intruders who try to
gain unauthorised access with a short, sharp regulated safe electric
shock. In the event of anyone trying to tamper, cut, climb or breach
the electrified perimeter system, alarms are generated.
Each section of the perimeter is zoned for interfacing with CCTV surveillance
systems and other alarm monitoring systems. Naturally PulseSecure
fully complies with all national and international safety standards.
PulseSecure is also the first perimeter security system to achieve
"Secured by Design", 'Police Preferred Specification'.
In fact users already range from government security, distribution depots
and car dealerships down to construction sites and corner-shops. They
all have one thing in common - all were suffering from threat or repeated
and apparently insoluble crime problems before PulseSecure was
installed to provide 100% protection. PulseSecure offers significant
advantages over alternative systems- it is much more secure, it is more
flexible to install and it is priced to achieve mass-market use.
The improved features mean it is viable for applications where electric
security fences were not previously an option - in fact it is suitable
for almost any site where perimeter security is a problem. Group 4 plans
to talk to all its existing customers about the system, and is embarking
on a series of workshops for insurance surveyors, consultants and Garda
Crime Prevention Officers. "I know this really is the security
break-through that many organisations have been looking for to give
them the upper hand against intruders," says Brian Walsh, Group
4's man leading the project. "We haven't begun promoting PulseSecure
yet but we've already been asked to fit our first system." Group
4 is the world's second largest security company and offers complete
security solutions - from CCTV, intruders alarms and access control
to manned guarding and patrol services. The PulseSecure perimeter
solution is seen as filling a separate and quite unique niche. And it
will tie-in particularly well with Group 4's mobile patrol and response
services. Not only will intruders be deterred and detected by PulseSecure,
Group 4 officers will be able provide rapid attendance to the scene
of any incident.
Earlier this year PulseSecure became the only electrified security
system to be granted the highest-level SEAP Grade 4 rating in the rigorous
testing scheme run by the UK's Home Office.
A number of alternative systems were tested simultaneously in demanding
field trials - all the others failed to reach the top level rating.
Only PulseSecure achieved Grade 4 and the fact that it has been
rated so highly by a UK government department has given the system very
strong credibility both in the UK and a growing number of international
markets. "There is now recognition in many countries that PulseSecure
has set the standard which all other electrified security systems will
have to match.
CASE STUDY
The Hamer Ford depot, Wolverhampton, holds £10million worth of
stock, was being so badly hit by thieves and vandals that it was in
danger of becoming uninsurable - despite the presence of security guards,
alarms and a new steel security fence. In one night alone £37,000
of damage was done by intruders jumping on the cars. Finally the company's
insurers recommended either the complete re-design of the site, with
vehicles to be stored internally, or the installation of the newly developed
PulseSecure electrified perimeter security system.
The PulseSecure electrified security system was chosen and it
worked overnight - eliminating all crime, and saving the company from
further rising costs. "The system paid for itself easily in the
first year - without it we would have been in real trouble," says
Compound Manager Brian Bird.
Nearly two years on, there has still not been any successful break-in
at the Hamer Ford site, and the business is thriving.
